IPTV on Nvidia Shield: Setup and Best Settings
In this guide
How do I set up IPTV on an Nvidia Shield?
Open Google Play on the Shield, install Axon Player or another IPTV player, sign in with your Xtream Codes login, then turn on Match frame rate and set AI upscaling for HD channels. Use the gigabit Ethernet port if you can: it is the single biggest help for smooth live TV.
What you need
- Nvidia Shield TV or Shield TV Pro
- Your Xtream Codes login or M3U link
- An Ethernet cable (recommended)
Install and sign in
- From the home screen open Google Play and search “Axon Player”.
- Install, open, choose Xtream Codes, enter the three fields.
- Wait for the channels and guide to load.
The Shield settings that matter
| Setting | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Match frame rate | Settings › Device preferences › Display & sound › Advanced | Smoother sports and fewer judders |
| AI-enhanced upscaling | Settings › Device preferences › Display & sound › AI upscaling (Pro and 2019 Shield) | Sharper HD channels on a 4K TV |
| Ethernet | Plug in the cable; Settings › Network shows it | Steadier than Wi-Fi |
Shield questions
